Topical Consolidation Crashcourse · now on demand

Two days. Eight topics. The March holiday consolidation.

Built around the work of the economics tutor who wrote the TYS answers.

The Topical Consolidation Crashcourse runs the full A Level Economics syllabus across eight topics, with 24 exam questions worked, each lesson split into the concepts that decide your marks and the exam questions that test them. The live March sessions have run for this cycle, and the whole programme is still yours: every lesson as recorded video, with the ETG Topical Consolidation Textbook couriered to your home, so you can consolidate every topic at your own pace. J2 H2 takes all eight lessons, J2 H1 takes seven, J1 H2 takes the four Micro sessions.

The live March run has been conducted. Available now on demand, with the Topical Consolidation Textbook couriered to your home.

Where the March break fits

The March holiday is short. With structure, it is also a real head start.

Most students start the March break with good intentions: this is the week I finally catch up, do timed practices, and sort out Market Failure once and for all. The intention is right. What is usually missing is leverage, a structure that makes the days count and someone to show you where an A grade answer actually comes from.

That is the good news. The students who improve fastest are not the ones who study longest. They are the ones who study smart: who get expert feedback, who see how a strong answer is constructed, and who connect what they already half know to how it is actually tested. None of that requires more hours. It requires the right two days.

That is exactly what this programme is built to give you, now on your own schedule. Eight topics, the concepts that decide your marks, and 24 exam questions worked through with you, so you walk into your block tests recognising the question patterns and knowing how to answer them. As Mr Toh puts it, most students who struggle in Economics do not have a knowledge problem. They have an exposure and application problem, and that is precisely what these two days are designed to close.

Why a specialist centre

If you are going to do a crashcourse, do it with a centre that only does Economics.

There are plenty of March holiday programmes. Most teach five, six or seven subjects, and Economics is one item on the menu. ETG has been Singapore's specialist A Level Economics tuition centre for 19 years. JC Economics tuition is all we do.

Built for the syllabus, not adapted

Every framework, every exam question we have analysed, and every refinement to the method comes from nearly two decades of focus on H1 and H2 Economics. The materials are written specifically for the A Level Economics syllabus, not adapted from a general template.

Refined year after year

What goes into the crashcourse is what has actually helped students score, kept and improved over 19 years of teaching Economics and nothing else.

Concentrated expertise

When you take this crashcourse you are not getting a generalist's take on Economics. You are getting the concentrated expertise of Singapore's specialist JC Economics tuition centre.

How each lesson works

Concept, then exam question, every time.

Knowing a concept and recognising how it is tested are two different skills. You can understand an idea when you read it, then freeze when it appears in an exam, because the question does not look like your notes. Each of the eight lessons builds both skills, and shows you how they connect.

A

Understand the concept (45 min)

Each lesson starts with the 3 to 5 concepts per topic that students most consistently misread. These are not obscure details, they are the building blocks that keep appearing in exam questions, so we make sure you genuinely understand them rather than just recognise them.

B

Concept to exam question (45 min)

Then we show you how those same concepts appear in real exams, working three exam questions together. Not just handing you model answers, but the process: how to read the question to find the concept being tested, how to structure the response, and how to write evaluations that actually score.

=

What you leave with

You finish each lesson understanding both the concept and how examiners test it. By the time you sit block tests you recognise question patterns you have seen before. Across eight lessons that is 24 exam questions connected back to the concepts that drive them.

Eight lessons, each 90 minutes split evenly between concept clarity and exam application. Twenty four exam questions in total, each worked and tied back to its concept.

Full syllabus coverage

Eight topics. No gaps left behind.

The programme covers the full A Level Economics syllabus across both Micro and Macro. The live run has finished for this cycle, so each lesson is available now as full recordings, with your recording access retained for 3 months.

Mr Eugene Toh, founder and economics tutor at ETG
Author of the H1 & H2 TYS answer keys
Who designs and teaches it

Designed by the economics tutor who wrote the answer key.

The Topical Consolidation Crashcourse was designed by Mr Eugene Toh, ETG's founder and lead economics tutor, who wrote the H1 and H2 Economics TYS answer keys published by SAP and sold at Popular, and the 50 Model Essays series published by Shing Lee. He holds a B.A. in Economics from NUS and an M.Sc. in Applied Economics from SMU.

The same frameworks, approaches and exam techniques that define ETG's method are built into every lesson and into the Topical Consolidation Textbook itself. The lessons are delivered by the ETG tutoring team, the tutors who work alongside Mr Toh year round, trained in ETG's method and trusted to deliver our most intensive programmes. His approach is not to tell you what to know. It is to show you how an examiner reads your answer, and precisely where marks are being lost.

When you study from the Topical Consolidation Textbook and watch the recordings, the reasoning reflects the same standard that defines a model answer, because it comes from the same person who wrote one.

Who this crashcourse is for

See where you fit.

The programme is built for structured, intensive consolidation. It routes neatly by level, and it is a targeted revision intensive rather than a replacement for weekly tuition.

This is for you

Structured consolidation

If you want the full syllabus tightened and to see how experts approach exam questions.

J2 H2: take all eight lessons for comprehensive syllabus consolidation across every topic, before block tests or prelims.
J2 H1: take seven lessons, strengthening your understanding across the H1 topics, skipping Lesson 4, Firms and Decisions, which is H2 only content.
J1 H2: lock in your Microeconomics foundations before J2 by taking the four Micro sessions, Lessons 1, 4, 5 and 6.
You may want more

A full programme

If you want sustained, ongoing structure rather than a targeted intensive.

Any year: the weekly JC programme gives you a marked essay or case study every week, all the way through.
In JC2: Last Lap is the structured revision run all the way to the A Levels, with the full year of recordings included.
In JC1: Expedite is the JC1 promo revision system, taught by Mr Toh.

Already scoring well? Many A and B grade students take the crashcourse to close any remaining blind spots and to see how senior tutors structure answers. It complements weekly tuition and school lessons rather than replacing them.

Also this March holiday

Taking GP too? There is a companion crashcourse.

ETG's sister brand ran a GP Essentials Crashcourse over the same March holiday, back to back with Economics. Two days, six lessons: Day 1 covers content for three exam relevant themes, Day 2 builds the skills, essay structure, comprehension technique, and Application Question mastery. Like the Economics crashcourse, it is now available on demand.

The crashcourse, answered

The questions students and parents ask.

It is a two day intensive A Level Economics revision programme that covers eight major topics across 12 hours, eight lessons of 90 minutes each, with every lesson split into concept teaching and exam question practice. It is built for JC1 and JC2 students taking H1 or H2 Economics who want structured consolidation before block tests or preliminary examinations. The live March run has been conducted, so it is now delivered as recorded video lessons with the ETG Topical Consolidation Textbook couriered to your home.

Yes. The live run on 19 and 20 March 2026 has been conducted and onsite attendance is no longer available, but the whole programme is still open for purchase in recorded video lesson form. When you pay, we courier the printed Topical Consolidation Textbook to your home and activate your LMS access within 48 hours, you can submit the essays you complete for grading, and your recording access runs for three months, so you can revisit any lesson before block tests, prelims and the A Levels.

Yes. J2 H2 students take all eight lessons covering the full syllabus, now 880 dollars. J2 H1 students take seven lessons, skipping Lesson 4, Firms and Decisions, which is H2 only content, now 770 dollars. J1 H2 students can take the four Microeconomics sessions, Lessons 1, 4, 5 and 6, to strengthen their foundations before J2, now 440 dollars. All come with the Topical Consolidation Textbook couriered to you, your LMS activated within 48 hours of payment, and three months of recording access.

Yes. Many students scoring A or B grades take it to close any remaining conceptual gaps and to see how ETG's senior tutors approach and structure exam answers. You are likely to discover evaluation techniques and question interpretation strategies you had not considered. If you want to make sure there are no blind spots before major exams, this crashcourse is for you.

Yes. Each lesson deliberately begins with concept clarity, the 3 to 5 key concepts per topic that students most commonly misread. We do not assume prior mastery, we build understanding from the ground up before showing how those concepts appear in exam questions. The structure helps students who are behind catch up while still stretching stronger students.

The eight topics are Market Failure, AD-AS and Macro Issues, Macroeconomic Policies, Firms and Decisions, Demand, Supply and Elasticities, Rational Decision Making, Macroeconomic Policies in Singapore, and Living Standards and its Indicators. They span both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics and represent the areas most frequently tested at the A Levels.

Yes. Every registration includes the ETG Topical Consolidation Textbook, with concept breakdowns for all eight topics and full model answers to all 24 exam questions covered in the crashcourse. The soft copy PDF is included with every registration, and the printed copy is couriered to your home.

No. This is a targeted revision intensive, not a replacement for weekly tuition. It is designed specifically for consolidation and exam preparation, helping students connect concepts they have already encountered to how those concepts appear in exam questions. It complements ongoing JC Economics tuition or school lessons rather than replacing them.

The programme and materials were designed by Mr Eugene Toh, ETG's founder and an economics tutor since 2007, who wrote the H1 and H2 Economics TYS answer keys published by SAP and sold at Popular, and the 50 Model Essays series published by Shing Lee, and holds a B.A. in Economics from NUS and an M.Sc. in Applied Economics from SMU. The lessons are delivered by the ETG tutoring team, the experienced tutors who work alongside Mr Toh year round, trained in ETG's method.

We publish whole cohort figures rather than cherry picked top scorers. The 2025 A-rate was 74 percent, self reported by students after results, so it carries the usual response and selection bias, not every student reports back and stronger students are more likely to, and students who seek specialist tuition may already be more motivated. Treat it as indicative rather than exact. SEAB sets the paper not us, and we lead with what students actually say.

Two days. Eight topics. March holidays that count.

Every topic, the concepts and the exam questions together, with an illustrated textbook to carry to your block tests. Get the Topical Consolidation Crashcourse as recordings, with the textbook couriered to your home, or message the team to work out which option fits your level.

ETG student discount may apply. Financial assistance on application. Questions first? Message the admin team on WhatsApp.
