H2 Economics is decided across two papers: the case studies and the essays. Knowing the content is not enough for either. Since 2007 ETG has specialised in this one subject, taught by the author of the H1 and H2 TYS answer keys, drilling the exact case study and essay skills that move you from a C to an A, with a personally marked paper every week.
We would rather show you students than quote you a percentage. Real, verifiable H2 grade jumps, in their own words.
"Subsequently my grades improved and learning Econs was so much more fun. I went from a D in Econs to A at A levels afterwards."
Ruoxi Zhang · Google review"Mr Toh's crashcourse saved my econs grades. I got S for prelims and B for A levels. I regret not joining earlier, if not I would have surely gotten A."
Thaddeus Heng · Google review"I retook my A levels and was able to improve by two grades."
JY Tan · Facebook review"A 2 grade jump despite joining his programme only in J2."
Rachel Chan · Facebook reviewIndividual results, in the students' own words, not typical. SEAB sets the paper, not us. Read 500+ verified reviews →
H2 Economics is not one exam, it is two. Each rewards a different skill, and most students are only ready for one of them. We prepare you for both, deliberately.
Two compulsory case study questions, built on real data and extracts.
Answer three essays from six, across microeconomics and macroeconomics.
Content gets you to a C. The A in H2 comes from two writing skills, drilled with marked feedback every week, from materials written by the person who wrote the answer key.
A structure that earns the analysis marks, and an evaluation approach that earns the rest.
A reliable way to read a case under pressure and convert it into marks.
Ds and Es to an A
"Mr Toh is an amazing econs tutor. He helped me jump from Ds and Es to an A for A Levels. Very understanding and patient, super caring too."Jamie Ng
A marked essay or case study every week, with a worked model and a video walkthrough, is the heart of the programme. At most centres marking is a separate paid lesson. Here it is included for every student, because being an H2 specialist at scale lets us run it as a standard feature.
Mr Eugene Toh, ETG's founder and lead economics tutor, wrote the H1 and H2 Economics TYS answer keys published by SAP and sold at Popular, and the 50 Model Essays series published by Shing Lee. He holds a B.A. in Economics from NUS and an M.Sc. in Applied Economics from SMU.
So when you study an H2 model answer here, you are reading from the same mind that defined it, and the same person who will mark your essay this week. The books are rewritten every term against the current syllabus and the latest prelim trends, so your practice matches the paper you will sit.

H2 Economics tuition is specialist help for the full H2 A Level Economics subject, examined across two papers, the case studies and the essays. At ETG it means weekly lessons from the author of the H1 and H2 TYS answer keys, a personally marked essay or case study every week, in-house textbooks, and unlimited consults, attended onsite, live on Zoom, or by recording.
In two papers. Paper 1 is the case studies, two compulsory data response questions built on real extracts. Paper 2 is the essays, where you answer three of six across microeconomics and macroeconomics. Each rewards a different skill, so we prepare you for both rather than just the content.
Content alone gets you to a C. The marks come from structure and evaluation: a clear thesis, a tightly argued body, diagrams used to make the point, and genuine judgement in the higher mark parts where most students score only 1 or 2. We drill that structure and that evaluation every week, modelled against the published 50 Model Essays.
Stop describing the extract and start analysing it. Our case study method is a repeatable way to extract and interpret the data, apply theory to the specific context in the case, and evaluate with a clear judgement, which is what the higher mark parts demand. You practise it on real case material with marked feedback.
H2 is the full subject, examined in two papers, the case studies and the essays, and is what most JC students take. H1 is the case study paper only, taken as a contrasting subject, and ETG runs a dedicated H1 programme with its own exclusive workbook. Our honest advice is to take H2 if your subject combination allows it.
About 115 dollars per lesson for JC2 and about 105 for JC1, each a two hour lesson with all materials and weekly marking included. Live Zoom is about 5 dollars less. Group and multi subject discounts apply, and confidential financial assistance of 25 to 100 percent is available for regular programmes.
Ideally in JC1, so the case study and essay skills have time to compound before promos and the A Levels. That said, students join as late as the middle of JC2 and still move several grades. Joining late is not the problem, joining without a structure is.
We publish whole cohort figures rather than cherry picked top scorers. The 2025 A-rate was 74 percent, self reported by students as of 28 February 2026, and it carries the usual response and selection bias caveats. We treat the student videos and their own messages as the stronger proof, which is why they lead this page.
The trial is a full two hour lesson, same room, same material, same standard. Not a demo, not a sales pitch. Come and judge the H2 programme on the work.
