01Joining JC1 GP mid year

Three gaps to close before Promos, in order.

Most JC1 students who reach mid year underprepared for GP are in the same position. The programme started in January, the themes have been building, and Promos are weeks away. There are three specific gaps to close, in order.

i. Reps

You have not written enough essays.

Most JC1 students arriving underprepared have written 5 to 7 essays. Strong students at this stage have written 25 to 30, each returned with paragraph level feedback. The gap is the number of essays written and marked, which is the part a programme can fix.

Students commonly mean to write more, and the deadline keeps moving.

ii. Direction

You do not know what to study.

The eight themes are not equally testable for Promos. Without a filter built from question history and mock data, students burn time on topics that will not appear and neglect the ones that are likely to.

Students follow the news and still do not know what is on the paper.

iii. The AQ

The AQ is 12 marks, and the hardest thing to self teach.

The Application Question is the most differentiating part of Paper 2, and the one students are most likely to face without a structured method. By Promos it can decide a grade band.

Students run out of time on the AQ and write whatever fits the space left.

02What is included

One bundle. Four components.

GP Expedite is the entire JC1 programme, joined late, assembled as one bundle so every piece is intact rather than patched together.

01 Live lessons

Live weekly lessons from the day you join

Two hour weekly lessons at Coronation Plaza (Bukit Timah) and Kovan (Upper Serangoon), or Zoom, same JC1 timings as the regular cohort. Same content, teaching, essay marking and feedback. Monthly essay practice, comprehension drills, AQ instruction and current affairs in every theme.

Weekly 2 hour lessonsMonthly marked essaysMock Promo prep
02 Recorded backfill

Every chapter since January, recorded, yours

Watch the recorded lessons for every theme covered before you joined, the same material the cohort sat through live, at your own pace and in any order. Term 1A, 1B and Term 2 lessons, each paired with its in house textbook sent on enrolment. You are not piecing it together from notes.

03 Every crashcourse

March, June, September. All eight. Included.

Every GP crashcourse run in 2026 is included. The two March crashcourses, Essentials 1 and the Skills crashcourse, come as recorded videos plus textbooks. The June and September crashcourses are attended live. This is the consolidation layer the cohort relies on, at no extra cost.

04 Term 4 Headstart

Post Promo Headstart into JC2

Once Promos are over the programme does not pause. Term 4 Headstart lessons from October cover JC1 consolidation and the first JC2 themes, so you enter the new year ahead rather than catching up a second time. This is the difference between a Promo package and a JC1 programme.

Inside the curriculum

Three real chapters from the current textbooks.

Three real chapters from the current library. Each carries a central question, a precise factual base anchored in Singapore, and the named past year questions it equips you to answer. This is the substance your lessons and crashcourses are built on, and you can inspect more of it free.

Verified Google review

Most students in our GP cohorts have achieved an A or B.

★★★★★
Mr Wong's GP lessons have been very helpful. He is very precise when explaining our mistakes and his consults are also very helpful! I only joined a week before my prelims and my grades went up a lot!! The predicted essay questions are also fairly accurate which is super beneficial and the tips he gives are super useful. He is able to relate dry concepts to his own life or our daily lives in general and it makes it so much easier to remember especially during exams!!

GP results at ETG

Most students in our GP cohorts have achieved an A or B. We do not publish a percentage A rate, because a number stripped of context would mislead. The curriculum, the writing volume and the marked feedback are what we stand behind, and you can inspect them free before you decide.

FAQCommon questions

The backfill, the crashcourses and the Term 4 Headstart.

What exactly is in the recorded backfill?
The recorded video lessons for every JC1 GP chapter that ran before you enrolled, plus the term textbooks (Term 1A, 1B, Term 2, depending on when you join). The videos are the same material the live cohort sat through, captured in full as standard. Watch at your own pace, in any order; most students work through it alongside the live lessons over their first few weeks.
What does Promo ready actually mean?
Arriving at the JC1 Promotional Examinations in late September having covered the full set of testable themes, written and received feedback on a meaningful volume of essays, completed AQ instruction, and worked through mock Promo papers and the September crashcourses. It does not mean a promised grade. It means the structural inputs are all in place.
Are all the crashcourses really included, even Level 2?
Yes, all eight crashcourses we run for the JC1 cohort in 2026 are in the fee. They are Essentials 1 and the Skills crashcourse in March, Essentials 2 and the Level 1 Compre and Essay bootcamps in June, and the September Study Rush with the Level 2 Compre and Essay bootcamps. The March ones come as recordings plus textbooks; June and September are attended live or on Zoom.
What is the Term 4 Headstart, and why is it part of Expedite?
Term 4 Headstart lessons run from October, after Promos. They consolidate the JC1 syllabus and begin the JC2 themes ahead of the formal JC2 calendar. It is bundled because the alternative, finishing at Promos and re entering in JC2, would create a second gap. By the time JC2 starts you are on equal footing with students who joined in January.
Can I attend a trial class first?
Yes. You can attend a trial for any regular JC1 GP slot, the same lesson, teaching and materials as the Expedite live component. Your first GP trial lesson is free. A paid trial is also available at the price of one lesson, and it includes the term's in house GP textbook. Onsite that is $105 for JC1 and $115 for JC2; on Zoom it is $100 and $110. One thing to keep in mind: GP does not improve after one lesson, so the trial is there for you to assess the quality of the teaching.
Is Expedite available online via Zoom?
Yes. Live JC1 classes run on Tuesdays and Fridays on Zoom, alongside Coronation Plaza (Bukit Timah) on Friday and Kovan (Upper Serangoon) on Tuesday. The Zoom version covers the same curriculum, materials and feedback. Recorded backfill is delivered digitally either way. Message the admin team on WhatsApp at +65 8121 6488 to confirm a slot.
Why does ETG not publish a specific GP A rate percentage?
Because GP improvement is gradual and depends on many factors, and a percentage stripped of context would mislead. What we can say is that most students in our previous GP cohorts have achieved an A or B. The programme is in its ninth cohort since 2018, and the curriculum substance is the proof we stand behind.
Who teaches and marks the lessons?
Former MOE teachers and JC lecturers with long experience teaching A Level General Paper, supported by tutors with strong academic and debating backgrounds. We keep tutors unnamed on purpose. The system, the in house materials and the marking rigour are the constant that every student gets, rather than the luck of one personality. Your essays are marked against the Cambridge band descriptors, and you can book consults to talk through a topic or a paper.
What happens after I register?
Your LMS access, including the recorded backfill and textbooks, is activated within 24 hours of payment. The admin team then messages you to slot you into the next live class and arrange your printed materials. Questions on fees or withdrawal first? The admin team is on WhatsApp at +65 8121 6488, and the free trial is there so you can decide before committing.
